Illustrative previews use the selected timezone and language; Discord may format them differently. Supported UTC years: 0001–9999. Browser timezone data may lag rule changes or be uncertain for historical dates. About timezone accuracy.

How to make a timestamp

1

Enter the wall-clock time and the timezone that clock belongs to. Presets cover now, one hour ahead, tomorrow at 9:00, and next Friday at 9:00.

2

Copy a tag. f is the usual choice. R stays relative and updates on its own. t, T, d, D, F, s, and S are fixed formats.

3

Paste it in Discord. Each person sees that same instant in their own timezone.

Questions

Reference: Discord’s timestamp documentation. Clock-change examples follow NIST’s 2026 daylight-saving rules.

What is a Discord timestamp converter?

A Discord timestamp converter turns a date and time into the <t:unix:style> tag that Discord shows each reader in their own timezone. Stamp builds every style letter, previews the text, and reads tags you paste back in.

Which style letter should I use?

f is the default: a long date with a short time, including both the date and time. Use t for a short time, d or D for a date, F to include the weekday, and R for a relative phrase that keeps updating. s and S pair a numeric date with a time. When the letter is omitted, Discord uses f.

Why does the converter ask for a timezone?

The tag stores a universal instant. Your timezone tells Stamp which instant a wall-clock time means. Discord then shows that instant in each reader’s own timezone. The preview here follows the timezone and the English variant you select. It depends on this browser’s timezone data, which may lag rule changes. Historical offsets, especially before 1970, may be uncertain. See the IANA database limitations and JavaScript timezone-data requirements.

Do I enter Unix seconds or milliseconds?

Discord timestamp tags use Unix seconds, counted from 1 January 1970 UTC. For example, 1618935630 is 20 April 2021 at 16:20:30 UTC. A large number may be milliseconds, but its digit count does not establish the unit. Only use the conversion button when your source value is in milliseconds.

How accurate is the relative preview?

Discord documents R as relative time but does not specify exact rounding thresholds or refresh intervals. Stamp’s relative wording is an approximation. Use an absolute style such as F alongside R when the precise event time matters.

What happens when clocks change for daylight saving?

Some local times never occur, and some occur twice. On 8 March 2026 in New York, 2:30 does not exist because clocks jump from 2:00 to 3:00. On 1 November 2026, 1:30 happens twice. Stamp identifies missing times and repeated times so you can choose the intended instant. Timezone conversions use this browser’s timezone data, which may change when governments change clock rules.

Does Stamp retrieve actual Discord client output?

No. Stamp generates an illustrative preview locally. It does not retrieve the rendered message from a Discord client.
